California Supplemental Privacy Statement
For Users in California

This notice describes the rights of Californians under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). As required by the CCPA, while we collect information from more than ten thousand Californians, we need to provide certain information to them. Our practices are described in detail in our Privacy Policy and this separate notice is to ensure our adherence to CCPA’s requirements. This notice contains the following four parts:

  1. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

As per CCPA requirements, we are required to disclose whether we sell your personal information. We hereby confirm that we do not sell any of your personal information.

Under the CCPA rules, we need to provide Californians with the following rights:

2.1 Requests for Information
As applicable to all our members everyone can request a copy of their personal information. Under the CCPA, you can ask us information such as how we have collected, used, and shared your personal information over the past 12 months, including what categories and the purposes your personal information is collected for; where we have collected it from including the sources; third parties and their categories with whom we shared it for a business purpose and what was our purpose to do so. Additionally, important disclosure shall be provided by companies that sell personal information. Let us assure you again, we do not sell any of your information.

2.2 Right to Opt Out of Sales
We do not have an option of opt-out of sales as we do not sell your information.

2.3 Right to Notification
As mandated by the CCPA, Empirico Research does not collect and use new categories of personal information for purposes other than meant (as described in our Privacy Policy) without a prior permission from you.

2.4 Nondiscrimination for exercising your CCPA Rights
As described under the CCPA, we and businesses like us cannot discriminate against you for exercising your rights under the law. We cannot discriminate and deny services, pay different incentives for same services, differentiate on level or quality of services, or suggest you will be provided a different level of service when you exercise your rights.

2.5 Your Right to Delete Personal Information
As applicable to all our members including ConSight Hub community, you have the right to request for deletion of all your information with us by choosing to close your sign-up. You can also request deletion of specific information. Unless there is exception, we are bound to accept and act on your requests.  The exceptions can be when your information is part of an ongoing survey or is necessary to complete a transaction or contract with a client or when it is being used for analysis (where specified), audit, quality monitoring, comply with laws and other rights provided by law.

Our Privacy Policy describes the information we collect and its sources.

Information you provide directly or through your interactions with our Services (as defined in Information We Collect and Store section of our Privacy Policy) or partners (as described in Sections “How We Use Your Information” and “Who We Share the Information With”)

  1. The CCPA Categories of Personal Information We Share for a “Business Purpose”

Though we do not sell any personal information provided by our panelists, for improvement of our services we may still share them with our partners, as described in our Privacy Policy. As required under the CCPA, these are called business purposes and have been described below. In addition, we may share personal information at your direction, such as when you choose to receive promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting.

4.1 Auditing Requirements
We may share the types of personal information with our client and related companies, in order to audit and verify interactions and responses, which you may have provided during one of the survey participation.

4.2 Security Reasons
In order to secure our Services, including detection, prevention and investigation of security incidents or violations of our Policies or applicable laws, we may share the types of personal information received from you with our partners, service providers, law enforcement and related companies.

4.3 Improvement of Services
In order to improve our Services (identification of bugs, repairing errors or ensuring services function as intended) or conducting internal research and analysis to improve our technology, we may share the types of personal information received from you with our partners, service providers and related companies. 

4.4 Other Purposes as Notified
Empirico Research can share the personal information, in types collected, with its service providers to perform certain services as described under a formal contract between the 2 parties, as defined by the CCPA.
